Typically, the holiday season is when Macy's ups the ante with its marketing campaigns. This year, Macy's is imploring a mobile-social approach, incorporating a dedicated hashtag that shoppers can use in their photo post. In addition, Macy's has created a website dedicated to the campaign that has been optimized for mobile devices for added holiday shopping information, and well as the option to receive text messages for updates and promotional material. For retailers, showrooming is still a major threat that could take away from their business during the busiest shopping season of the year.
