Today's advice comes from a FastCompany interview with Buddy Media's Michael Lazerow:

If companies haven't already created rock-solid social media programs, that should be at the top of their agendas in 2012.

One of New York's tech stars, Michael Lazerow, recently spoke about how if companies don't adapt, they're in big trouble.

"The world is reorganizing around people, and companies need to reorganize around people," he told FastCompany. "Companies can no longer just shout — they have to listen, and act on that listening."

Lazerow is the CEO of social media marketing firm Buddy Media — his fourth startup, which virtually all of the biggest Facebook advertisers use. The company raised $54 million in Series D funding this summer, and doubled its revenue this year.
