Asia-Pacific Region Leads In Social Media User Growth (eMarketer)
Social media is growing quickly in the Asia-Pacific region, according to an updated study by Global Web Index. Japan is the biggest growth driver for Facebook with a 42% increase in users since the second quarter of 2012. South Korea's Google+ use exploded over the course of the past year increasing 209%. YouTube Analytics Gets A Whole Lot More Powerful (Google)
YouTube's Insight Data analytics service has always left much to be desired — only permitting users to see how many times a video was seen, how popular it was, and viewer demographics. However, the new YouTube Analytics API lets users see detailed metrics such as how many minutes visitors spend on a certain channel or video, estimated earnings from advertisements, cost per impression, and click-through and close rate.
