Dear People:
Yesterday I spoke at length with a writer who was developing an article for Positively Successful Magazine. Realized as I spoke with her that the importance of every employee developing his or her own career path is not emphasized enough in organizations. No one cares as much about your career and your success as you do. Perhaps your family cares, but you are the only person who is completely immersed in your work life every single day. So, why not make the time you invest in work and your career significant? I can't stress the importance of taking charge of your own personal and professional development enough. It is way too easy to wish you had a good boss or an astonishing mentor, who made things happen for you, when what you really need to do is to empower your own success. My third lead article emphasizes how many options are available to you at work to continue to develop your career, your skills, and your options.
Today's other lead articles focus on closing the deal when you hire a new employee. From job offers to counter offers to the basics about how to hire an employee, what you need is here. Have a terrific rest of your week.
