This What Happens When Word Leaks Apple And Google Might Buy You

It's not often we get to see a public company suddenly thrown into play for Apple and Google to buy, but it just happened with mobile tech company InterDigital.

After a consortium led by Apple decided to spend $4.5 billion on Nortel's patents, InterDigital decided to put itself on the block. Interest from Apple and Google was leaked to the press, and suddenly the stock popped. Interdigital's CEO says his company's patent portfolio is stronger than Nortel's, but its market cap is just at $3 billion, so the market isn't buying it yet. Read »
