BREAKING NEWS: Philly-Area Manufacturing Rebounds Sharply, Lifting Stocks

A reading on the health of manufacturing in the Philadelphia region improved sharply this month, helping stocks rebound Thursday morning. The Philly Fed's business index rose to 8.7 this month from September's -17.5, and the all-important new-orders index improved to 7.8 from -11.3.
