A 68-year-old Dutch woman has died from injuries sustained after two trains collided head-on near Amsterdam. Authorities are investigating whether human error or technical failure caused the crash.

Jailed former Prime Minister refuses state hospital treatment
Ukrainian opposition leader and former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has refused treatment at a state-run hospital and has returned to jail under circumstances her lawyer describes as "absurd."

Demonstrators demand snap elections in Azerbaijan
In a rare, authorized rally just outside the capital of Azerbaijan, host of next month's Eurovision Song Contest, thousands of protesters have called for new elections and democratic reforms.
