The U.S. set two records Monday night in a dramatic win: the country's fastest World Cup goal and, later, first goal made by an American substitute in World Cup history. The game got off to a quick start, with Clint Dempsey scoring just 34 seconds into it. But the U.S. then managed to hold off relentless pressure from Ghana until the 82nd minute, when Andre Ayew scored to tie the game for the Black Stars. Only four minutes later though, John Brooks, who came in as a substitute at the half, scored on a header off a corner kick to ensure a win for Team USA.
