Ryanair to sell £5 tickets for standing-room only flights

OK, just when you though air travel couldn't get any worse....Ryanair may be changing the game once again! And for those of you that don't follow the air travel market that closely, the things that Ryanair introduces in the European market tend to make their way to the U.S. market quite quickly (i.e. fees for checked baggage, boarding privileges, etc.).

Now, they've announced a once-unthinkable concept - standing-room ticketing for their flights. Is this coming to the U.S.? Would it be successful here? Why or why not?

Watch the video clip below from the Telegraph of London:

and for more detail, here's their news story on the Ryanair announcement:

Is this coming to AtlantaChicago, and Wichita? Would you pay JUST to go to the bathroom on the plane? This should draw some big discussion here on the blog - post your thoughts here and forward this on to your real - and virtual - friends (is there a difference anymore?).

Man, this article amazes me. I am about fed up with airports and flying in general. They think that times are hard now, charge me to use the restroom in a standing room only flight. Airplane companies are crazy to think we will stand for this. I am going to start riding the train or renting a car.
