There's More to Leadership
Than Genes
Genes account for just 49% of a person's qualities of transformational, or inspirational, leadership, according to a study led by Sankalp Chaturvedi of Imperial College London in the UK. The researchers say their results, based on surveys of hundreds of twins, show the importance of providing training to develop managers' abilities to practice transformational leadership, "one of the most effective leadership styles in affecting employee attitudes, behaviors, and performance."
