Cheat Sheet - Inside the Boston Marathon Bombers Pre-Dawn Manhunt

Cheat Sheet: Morning

April 19, 2013
JUSTICE

Boston authorities caught up with the two men suspected of bombing the Boston Marathon late Thursday night and engaged in an hours-long firefight. One is dead, and the other is on the run. The two are reportedly brothers, permanent residents who originally hailed from Chechnya. The suspect on the loose (pictured with a white hat) is believed to be 19-year-old Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev while the other one is 26-year-old Tamerlan Tzarnaev. See the latest in the case of the Boston bombers.

CLUES

Following the news of the predawn police chase that left one Boston Marathon bombing suspect dead, with the other still on the run, information about the man at large continues to develop. Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev is believed to be a 19-year-old of possible Chechen origin, who attended the public Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he was recognized as a Greater Boston Leauge winter all-star for wrestling. In 2011 he was apparently awarded a $2,500 scholarship by the city of Cambridge, and according to his signature on an online petition for backyard ducks and chickens in Cambridge, he seems to have been in Cambridge since at least 2010. His brother Tamerlan, who was killed in last night's shootout, was reportedly 26 years old and a Russian native.

THE HUNT

Jeff Bauman—the man who had his legs blown off and was in the iconic picture with the "Boston cowboy"—may have helped identify one of the suspects. Read Michael Daly's report, published before the shootout in Watertown early Friday morning.

WANTED

Former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf was arrested and put under house arrest Thursday for his alleged involvement in the 2007 dismissal of several senior judges, one of whom was the chief justice of Pakistan's Supreme Court. Musharraf will stay at his farmhouse, with police security, for two days before being brought to anti-terrorism court. Musharraf looks forward to proving his innocence at trial. "These allegations are politically motivated, and I will fight them in the trial court, where the truth will prevail," he said.
