The 2014 Grammys started out with a whimper and, a few performances aside, turned into a complete and utter disaster. From misspelling Cory Monteith's name to snubbing Kendrick Lamar's epic album, the awards show was replete with puzzling winners, awkward and offensive cutaways, and plenty of bad music. As Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor tweeted after they cut his performance short with final credits, it was "music's biggest night… to be disrespected."

CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?

The British actor said in court Tuesday that the now-defunct News of the World infiltrated his phone while he was in America, which could interest Washington into investigating Rupert Murdoch's News Corp, report Nico Hines and Peter Jukes. If that weren't bad enough, a family member allegedly told the tabloid that Law screamed at Daniel Craig on the phone for having an affair with then-girlfriend Sienna Miller.

UP NEXT

Egypt's military council has given army chief Abdel Fattah el-Sisi the green light to announce a presidential run, promoting him to field marshal—the same rank Hosni Mubarak once held. Jamie Dettmer writes the electoral switch is deepening tensions in a country that was rocked by mainly Islamist protests over the weekend that left 49 dead and hundreds injured, including the deadliest blast to hit Cairo in living memory.

RISKY BUSINESS

Bitcoin Exchange CEO Charlie Shrem was arrested today at JFK Airport and charged with money laundering for his company's involvement with Silk Road, an online black market. U.S. District Attorney Preet Bharara filed charges against Shrem and a co-conspirator for selling over $1 million in bitcoins to Silk Road users, who would then use the currency to purchase illegal drugs and other items. "Hiding behind their computers, both defendants are charged with knowingly contributing to and facilitating anonymous drug sales, earning substantial profits along the way," said DEA agent James Hunt.

HINDSIGHT

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton admitted that the biggest regret of her tenure was the 2012 attacks on the U.S. mission at Benghazi in Libya, which left four Americans dead.  She told a panel at the National Auto Dealers Assocation Convention in New Orleans we sent civilians to "a lot of dangerous places." She also said she hasn't driven a car since 1996.
