Despite bailout, Greece faces long and winding road
European finance ministers have agreed on a second bailout package for Greece worth 130 billion euros ($170 billion). The deal keeps Greece in the eurozone, but could also keep them from economic growth.

Syrian security forces unleash on flashpoint city of Homs
Syrian Security forces were pounding the flashpoint city of Homs on Tuesday following reports of a troop and artillery build up in the region. Attacks on demonstrators were also reported in the capital, Damascus.

French police detain Strauss-Kahn in prostitution probe
Former IMF director Dominique Strauss-Kahn has been detained for questioning regarding his alleged involvement in a prostitution ring spanning several countries.

Palestinian prisoner agrees to end 66-day hunger strike
An alleged Palestinian militant held without charge in an Israeli prison since December has agreed to end his hunger strike in return for his release in April. Doctors had voiced fears about Khader Adnan's health.

Saudi Arabia appoints ambassador to Iraq after 20 years
In an attempt to re-establish ties with Iraq, Saudi Arabia has named an ambassador to the country for the first time in 21 years. Early statements from the foreign ministry suggest the dipomat will be non-resident.

If former president Christian Wulff thought resigning might calm the waters, he was perhaps mistaken. Social Democrats in the state Wulff once governed want further investigations into aspects of Wulff's political past.

Foxconn denies wage hike was triggered by Apple audit
Taiwan's Foxconn group is under scrutiny from its biggest customer Apple Inc. for poor working conditions. A recent 25-percent wage hike for workers has nothing to do with the audit, the firm has claimed.
