The European Union has suspended sanctions on Myanmar, rewarding the government for its reform efforts. It has, however, left in place an arms embargo.

Sudan, S. Sudan clash despite Heglig withdrawal
Clashes erupted again over the weekend between Sudan and South Sudan, as southern forces reportedly withdrew from the oil-producing region at the heart of the conflict. The south said it was "building up troops."

The Czech Republic's center-right coalition government teetered on the verge of collapse over the weekend, as it sought to scrape together a parliamentary majority in the face of massive anti-austerity protests.
