Scores killed in clampdown on Syrian protesters
At least 90 people have been killed by Syrian forces in Homs province, an activist group has reported. The latest violence came as the UN secretary general condemned the lack of progress towards peace in Syria.

Troubled Bankia confident bailout will save bank
Bankia says the planned government bailout will be enough to turn the bank around. If appproved, it would be the largest-ever bank bailout in Spain, at 19 billion euros ($24 billion).

US drone strike destroys bakery, killing three militants
Washington has shown no sign of relenting in its drone campaign along the Pakistan-Afghan border, launching its third strike in four days. Saturday's strike killed at least three militants in North Waziristan.

Yemeni army reports progress against al Qaeda
Military sources in Yemen have said 27 al Qaeda militants and six soldiers died during clashes in the south of the country. Yemen's army says it is pushing the rebels back and reclaiming territory.
