Today's advice comes from Jen Groover, author and serial entrepreneur, via Entrepreneur: "Innovation for entrepreneurs is critical. It's what sets you apart from everybody else, it's what makes you different, it's what makes your business grow or not grow. One thing that I think is really fun to watch people do is take things that are successful from other industries and apply them to their industry." Groover is the creator of the Butler Bag and author of What If? and Why Not?: How to Transform Your Fears Into Action and Start the Business of Your Dreams. She encourages companies to take a look at successful, innovative businesses, examine what worked for them and model your own company based off of some of those key components. Even if the industry is unrelated to your own, you can still mold their innovation to fit into your line of work. "It could apply to marketing strategies, it could apply to your business model, it could apply to product development. It doesn't matter, innovation is all levels or your business. Creativity is all your unlimited capital, and once you realize, doing creativity exercises is just as important as doing physical exercise." Want your business advice featured in Instant MBA?
