The Cynical Girl: Look Good While Traveling for Business

I am just going to put it out there. You look like hell when you travel for business.

I know this because I am on the road constantly and I always look like someone just ran over me with a truck. I never have the right hair or skin products. It is a righteous pain to pack my favorite clothes because they wrinkle.

And I never eat right or exercise, either.

Dudes have it easier, of course, so this advice is for the ladies. Here are are some things to avoid while traveling.

Wearing too much make-up. That concealer isn’t covering anything — including those dark circles. Less is more. Always.
Trying to do too much with your hair. Have you seen Hillary Clinton? She’s like Madonna. As Secretary of State, I think she looks fabulous. She grew out her hair for one reason — to pull it back. Also, it’s a pain in the ass to wash your hair on the road. I’m a big believer in the blow out before the trip.
Buying new clothes before leaving for a trip. Don’t test an outfit on a plane or in a new city. Your best look is a look your already own.

The only things you can do to look relatively decent while you travel? Get some sleep. Drink water. Moisturize.

You say you don’t even moisturize at home? Crazy talk. You should. Something simple would work. Even Oil of Olay. But that’s another blog post.
