Putting the Obama in Obamacons -- From real America to Europe in one easy step -- A new vacation destination -- Radical Muslims for Sodomy -- Poll of the Day: America has mixed feelings on gun control --Tweet of Yesterday
1.) Putting the Obama in Obamacons -- Not all those who identify themselves as conservatives dislike President Obama's policies, though the list isn't very large. TheDC's Alexis Levinson reports:

"Of the 17 'Obamacons' who spoke to The Daily Caller over the past couple of months, seven said they still plan to vote for Obama, three expressed displeasure with both Obama and GOP hopeful Mitt Romney, three said they remained undecided, and four declined to comment. Among those who have become disenchanted with Obama — but remain equally unenthusiastic about Romney — are foreign policy expert Andrew Bacevich; Bruce Bartlett, who served in the administrations of Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush; and center-right blogger and archaeologist Dorothy King."
2.) From real America to Europe in one easy step  -- In one foul swoop, North Carolina lost its cool and became -- for a lack of a better term --- a wholly pathetic state. TheDC's Caroline May reports:

"Just in time for the chaos of early September, the Democratic National Convention (DNC) host city of Charlotte, N.C. welcomed their metro area bike share program on Tuesday evening. The program, called Charlotte B Cycle, consists of 20 stations across the city with 200 bikes, and is a project of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina’s 'Get Outside North Carolina!' initiative. 'The hope is that it would be available to use during the convention and after,' Jennifer Hodorowicz, a North Carolina Blue Cross Blue Shield spokeswoman, told The Daily Caller."

Bike shares? Really? Why not just force all the male riders to wear a dress.
3.) A new vacation destination -- Historic northern Mali is a superb place for you and your significant other to visit, especially if you are unmarried and looking to be murdered. Zachary Huffman reports for TheDC:

"In the northern Mali town of Aguelhok, radical Islamists on Sunday seized an unmarried couple and stoned them to death as more than 200 people watched. A local official told The New York Times that members of Ansar Dine, a terrorist group affiliated with al-Qaida, dragged the couple to the center of town at 5 a.m. on Sunday morning prior to the execution. The terror group alleged the couple had violated Sharia law by having children out of wedlock."

So civilized.
4.) Radical Muslims for Sodomy -- This is what goes for intellectualism in parts of the Muslim world. TheDC's David Martosko reports:

"Homosexual behavior is strictly forbidden under Islam, with penalties in some Middle Eastern countries ranging from imprisonment to death. But according to one Muslim cleric who cited a sheik's fatwa, jihadis who want to smuggle explosives in their rectums can -- and should -- accept being 'sodomized' to make room for the mini-bombs ... 'Sodomy is forbidden, and not permitted,' the cleric replies on video, according to a translation The Daily Caller has obtained, 'but jihad takes priority because it makes Islam dominant. And if the dominance of Islam cannot be achieved except through sodomy, then it is OK'"

Isn't radical Muslim culture lovely?
5.) Poll of the Day: America has mixed feelings on gun control -- Pew Research Center asks, "What do you think is more important -- to protect the right of Americans to own guns, or to control gun ownership?": 47% said control ownership, 46% said right to own guns, 6% were undecided.
6.) Tweet of Yesterday -- David Burge: If Romney nominates Ryan, they should just go ahead and cancel the VP debate. #PreemptiveMercyRule
VIDEO: Michele Bachmann on Gore Vidal's death

Long Overdue -- California Democratic congresswoman rented room to staffer for years, didn't report income to IRS for over a decade

Muslim cleric: Gay sex OK in the service of jihad -- Official fatwa says jihadis may defy Quran to make room for butt-bombs

Voter ID rules protect seniors, minorities from fraudsters, says new study -- Study 'completely contradicts the [claim] that blacks, seniors, college students and other disadvantages groups are being victimized'

Ann Coulter: Obama's signature move -- Unsealing private records -- The president and his advisers have a long history of leaking private records to the press.

Emily Esfahani Smith: Mitt Romney's sex appeal and Newsweek's 'wimp' cover -- Will the outcome of this fall's election hinge on whether voters see Romney as a manly man?

Ron Capshaw: The devolution of Gore Vidal  -- Over the course of his life, Vidal went from being an interesting thinker to being a tiresome ideologue.

Jack Hunter: Ban Chick-fil-A? -- The greatest threat to freedom comes from those who don't think the restaurant should be allowed to operate.

George Neumayr: Obama's conscience tax begins on August 1 -- Employers who refuse to comply with Obama's contraceptive and abortifacient mandate will face heavy fines.
