International observers praise Georgian election
International observers have hailed Georgia's parliamentary election as free and fair and complimented the country's leaders for conducting a democratic vote. President Mikheil Saakashvili has officially conceded defeat.

Gunmen kill students in Nigeria
At least 20 people, mostly university students, have been shot dead by unidentified gunmen in northeastern Nigeria. Authorities have at two theories on possible culprits but no concrete information as yet.

Opposition coalition Georgian Dream has claimed victory in parliamentary elections, and President Mikheil Saakashvili conceded, saying his United National Movement (UNM) party would go into opposition.
