Courts across Egypt have closed as judges went on strike against President Mohamed Morsi's move to ban judicial review. The actions come as demonstrations in Tahrir Square persisted for a seventh consecutive day.

M23 rebels have announced they will not lay down their weapons until they hold direct talks with the DRC government. The announcement was made shortly after regional leaders met to decide on a peace plan.
