HIGH STAKES
If the sole measure of success for the conflict between Israel and Hamas was targets hit, Israel would be the clear winner. But Hamas has won the war by showing their rockets can hit all of Israel, Eli Lake writes.
SORRY NOT SORRY

Time Warner has rejected 21st Century Fox's $80 billion formal offer. The potential deal with the Rupert Murdoch-controlled company had stirred up a speculation frenzy, but it seems the offer wasn't enough. According to CNBC, Time Warner was offered $85 a share in cash and stock. As part of the deal, 21st Century Fox said it would sell CNN to appease regulators. Despite the rejection, Murdoch is reportedly "determined" to buy Time Warner.

FEEDING FRENZY
With the forced ouster of hosts Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy as well as the longtime executive producer at The View, speculation is swirling as to who the replacements will be. Lloyd Grove reports that the show is looking for a conservative, who will give the show "fireworks rather than camaraderie."

Attention, elected representatives: Calling the thousands of Central American kids seeking safety at the U.S. border "gang members" and "not children" is probably not a savvy political move. "A lot of these children… quote-unquote… ya know, the first caller mentioned it, ya know, they're gang members. They're gang affiliated," Rep. Rich Nugent (R-FL) told a local radio show on Monday. "When you have those types coming across the border, they're not children at that point. These kids have been brought up in a culture of thievery. A culture of murder, of rape. And now we are going to infuse them into the American culture. It's just ludicrous."

ONSLAUGHT

Israel continued its airstrikes on Wednesday, after Hamas rejected a ceasefire and launched 47 rockets at Israel. "Hamas chose to continue fighting and will pay the price for that decision," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said. The death toll for the nine-day conflict has hit 208, many of which were civilians and children, and all but one a Palestinian. Before the Israeli airstrikes today, Gaza residents received phone calls and leaflets telling them to evacuate their homes.
