Great message! Kindness is such a simple thing and if everyone would make an attempt at having more respect for others, they would realize that you can get a lot farther.
I agree that good customer interactions/kindness is vital to your business. Every weekend, I take my dad out to eat for lunch. He always picks his favorite restaurant in Mandeville. I always complain that the food there isn't too good. His response is always, "I don't go there for the food, I go because they are so friendly and nice."
This is a very simple message, yet so true. I find when dealing with the public it is always better to smile and be nice even when it is hard to do. You never know a what a person is going through in their life so just a smile or saying "have a good day" could make someone's day a little bit better.
Very simple, yet powerful video. If I go to a resturant and the staff seems rude, I won't go back! If your staff is trained well on pleasing the customer, people will come back! Kindness may even get you a job over someone who isn't. In fact, good karma could be coming your way. Kindness is contagious.
Kindness is free and I think some people forget that. By taking a few minutes out of your day to do something kind for someone else, whether it is a friend or a complete stranger can make a difference in a person’s life. Just like everyone else said it makes a huge difference in the business world.
KINDNESS. What a beautiful word. Showing kindness is a chain reaction. Just like the commericals, when you do one nice thing, the person you did a nice thing for, will in turn do a nice thing for someone else...and set off a chain reaction. This is so true. Kindness changes the overall tone and genuine happy feeling of friendships, relationships, and work place environments. It's just like doing your job requirements, but then taking it above and beyond, without putting too much more effort in, but the benefits of feeling appreciated, loved, and being showed respect and kindness makes your job day that much smoother, easier, and happier. We can all try to be more kind. Even if you don't originally genuinely feel your kindness, if you try it enough, it will eventually become habit and sooner or later, you will truly feel the benefits of being kind to others. You never know what that other person may be going through.
I completely agree with kindness and quality of care being more memorable than anything else when I've had to stay in the hospital or one of my sons had to be hospitalized. There are doctors offices and hospitals that I won't ever go back to because the staff is unfriendly. Who wants to be somewhere they're not treated properly? I don't.
I personally could not agree more with Tom Peters. He really tells it like it is; kindness and being polite, showing courtesy and respect to others, these would seem like second nature to us as we've been thought these behaviors since growing up as children, but so many people are concerned with themselves and how cranky they are at work, or what problems they're having, they simply don't make serving their customers in the best way possible a priority anymore, and its a shame because then the whole company suffers.
He is correct, kindness is the key. If everyone could just use a little more kindness the world would be a much happier place. I believe that a business that is kind will have a lot more customers than a business who doesn’t care and is rude. Kindness is free and can play a very important role in our everyday lives.
I do agree that kindness is a powerful thing. Just like the example about the hospital kindness can just make a person’s day. It doesn’t have to do with the medicine that heals them if you spread kindness to someone it become contagious. If everyone could be kind in the world today, we could live a better tomorrow.

Kindness is the key to many interactions between individuals. It smooths the path and makes the day just a little bit brighter. I will revisit a business if they are kind/friendly no matter if the product was good or not.
When dealing with people or customer you should have an positive attitude with them. When have any type of job you have to deal with negative people with attitude problems. You have to deal with them in a respectful way
Just the other day I was having a really bad day and just didn't want to be bothered with people. Then I had this lady come to my office who was having an extremely bad day and began crying when talking to me, so obviously her day was much worse than mine. Of course, I went out of my way to help this lady and make sure she had everything done that she needed to do and actually felt a little bit better about myself that day. For some reason this lady has stuck in my head and makes me think of people in a little different light. You just never know what people are going through in their own lives and it just might make their day a little better if you give them that few extra seconds.
I thought this was very well said and is so true, in my opinion. How people are treated plays a big role in their experience no matter if it is at a store, restaurant, or even hospital. Kindness is not only free...it makes a difference!
This was just the perfect post for today! I've been amazed at how rude and mean people have been to me lately! Kindness IS free and I think people need to understand this. It really isn't that hard to just smile at or acknowledge someone. Being kind to someone may just turn their day around and might even make you feel a little bit better yourself!
What a great Video. I have worked in sales and in the service industry and I know how important it is to treat your customers how you would want to be treated. Kindness is free and is also not that hard to ask of others that are serving you. I agree with Christina in saying that people forget about Kindness. A little kindness can go a long way!
I was always told kindness would take you a long ways!! This video was so true. Kindness is free, but so many people could care less and just arent kind. Customer service is important as well, I wont go to a place if the workers arent kind and give good customer service. Everyone should take part in being kind.
Kindness is the key to success. From first hand expierience whether it be at the doctors office, a restaurant, or store my most memorable and good expieriences are the ones where I was treated with kindness. I treat others how I would like to be treated..."kindness is free" and in return is a bigger reward knowing that you have made a positive impression.
Umm maybe I'm different but I could careless about how nice they are... They could tell me to fuck off as long as they are faster and cheaper and of course the whole getting me well part... But that is why I don't go to hospitals... they are extremely expensive and I would rather just walk the sickness off or drink a nice scotch until I forget I'm sick!!!
This was a really great message. Yet, so many people act as if being kind to another human is the hardest thing in the world to accomplish. I work as a customer service manager at a Wal-Mart so I I know how difficult it is to sometimes be kind. But I believe you take up more of your energy to fight back with a customer instead of just giving them what they want. You get happier customers who are willing to spend their money at your store. But trust me it isn't easy.
Kindness is what is going to get me to come back to a place. I do not go to places that have a great product and have an extremely rude staff. At my work we have to deal with truck drivers, so we try to use kindness to make their day better. Truckers can sometimes be a little frustrated when they have to sit around and wait because it is costing them money. If we are kind to them they usually are not as upset when we tell them that their load is going to be a couple of hours.
This lecture was really great, mostly because it's so true. Interactions between people would be so much better if we approached every situation with kindness and respect for the other person. Especially in business/customer relations where often times people can act rudely towards the other person when just being nice would make the transaction much easier.
I think this video is very true, because you never know who you may need. It is important to be kind because people like to be treated with respect. It's important because it helps people become comfortable and want to do business with you.
I really liked this video. It is always important to be kind and the question that pops into my mind is, why on earth would not want to be kind? It is free to be kind and can lift the spirits and moods of others around you.
This video demonstrated an important message and that is how important kindness is and how far it can take you. Being kind and friendly is essential when it comes to working for a business or being involved with people or customers. I agree with the statement Tom Peters said, "Kindness if Free." That is very true and he points out that kindness is the key. I believe it is the key to success. Kindness relates to the golden rule, Do onto others as you would have them do onto you. Very important message!
