As you can see, taking $100 off the price of the iPad has made an impact. Almost half of consumers are buying the older iPad.  Is this bad for Apple? It's bringing less money. But, there's some evidence that Kindle Fire sales have weakened, and the cheaper iPad could be to blame. So that's good for Apple Even if it has no effect of Kindle sales, the important thing for Apple is to sell as many as it can. It's in land-grab mode, and it should be trying to move iPads out the door as quickly as possible.
