By: Jamie Weinstein Gaffe summit -- DJs for Obama -- Report on shooting -- Romney's a business, man -- Poll of the Day: Romney up in Ohio, Florida & Virginia, down in Colorado --Tweet of Yesterday | 1.) Gaffe summit -- Guess who's coming to lunch? For President Obama, it's Vice President Dysentery Mouth. TheDC's Neil Munro reports: "President Barack Obama’s Thursday schedule shows him sharing a 12:30 p.m. lunch with Vice President Joe Biden. It may be an awkward lunch, because Biden’s return to the campaign trail this week has boosted Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s campaign, obscured the Democrats’ initial effort to damage Romney’s new pick for vice president, and revived gossip that Biden will be dumped before the Democratic National Convention." President Obama will probably say something like this at the lunch: "Joe, stop talking. Just stop. In fact, for the rest of the campaign, don't leave your residence. Why didn't you tell me your IQ didn't hit triple digits before I picked you? Never mind. Don't answer that. Don't answer anything. I don't want to hear you say a word for the rest of this campaign." | 2.) DJs for Obama -- This group actually exists. TheDC's Taylor Bigler reports: "DJs for Obama” is a group of disc jockeys who, as its name suggests, support President Barack Obama’s re-election efforts. In a one minute video, which appears to pander to the douchey, Los Angeles scenester demographic, features photos of several DJs for Obama with names like DJ Adam, DJ Sharada, and D-Nice, strung together to the narration of DJ Cassidy ... The gist of the video — in case you don’t want to waste one minute of your life that you will never get back — is that a group of inconsequential hipsters want Obama to be the president again." While the DJs are enthusiastic supporters of Obama now, we'll see where they stand after his forthcoming landmark speech, entitled "You didn't mix that." | 3.) Report on shooting -- TheDC's Caroline May reports on Wednesday's shooting at the headquarters of a conservative advocacy group: "The gunman suspected of opening fire in the lobby of the socially conservative Family Research Council (FRC) headquarters — injuring a security guard — had been volunteering at the The DC Center for the LGBT Community. Alleged gunman Floyd Corkins II from Herndon, Va., had been working with the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender community center for six months, according to The Associated Press." We should not rush to judgment, but if the situation was reversed and it was a liberal social group that was attacked with such violence by someone who on first appearance seemed to be politically motivated, let there be no doubt we would have wall to wall coverage of the incident. | 4.) Romney's a business, man -- Before President Obama, the media and some of Mitt Romney's Republican rivals decided Romney was the world's worst businessman, some people actually thought he was among America's best. Like CNBC's stock barker --- who was also a 2008 Obama voter --- Jim Cramer. TheDC's Jeff Poor reports: "[W]hile he hasn’t talked a lot about his thoughts on this year’s presidential election, [Cramer did lay out the case for Romney during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Hardball” on June 1, 2007. 'Can I just tell you something right now — I interviewed with Romney,' Cramer said. 'He tried to hire me in 1984. Why do people now say well, ‘I don’t want to have a Mormon as president?’ I never even thought of him as a Mormon. He is like the best businessman in North America. And that is how you should think of him.'" | 5.) Poll of the Day: Romney up in Ohio, Florida & Virginia, down in Colorado -- Purple Strategies poll of likely voters in those states. Florida: Romney 48%, President Obama 47%. Ohio: Romney 46%, President Obama 44%. Virginia: Romney 48%, President Obama 45%. Colorado: Romney 46%, President Obama 49%. | 6.) Tweet of Yesterday -- rainnwilson: Joe Biden should watch Jason Sudeikis' version of him on SNL to learn how to be more reserved, wise & Vice Presidential. | VIDEO: Joe Biden can't seem to figure out who, what, where, when or why | | |
