BUZZKILL

An increasingly vocal group of hipster parents says smoking pot makes them better, more engaged parents. Not to be a buzzkill, but that's a lot of hooey, writes Jason Good.

BREAKING

Three more suspects have been arrested in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings, police say. The suspects allegedly destroyed and concealed Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's backpack and laptop after the bombing. Two of the suspects, Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev, are reportedly from Kazakhstan and went to school with Dzhokhar at UMass Dartmouth. The two reportedly have been held in a county jail for more than a week on allegations they violated their student visas. The Boston Globe identified the third man as Robel Phillipos, 19, of Cambridge, and he reportedly a U.S. citizen. According to ABC News, the backpack the suspects removed was in Dzhokhar's dorm room and contained fireworks.

TALIBAN'S SAVIOR

A group of Taliban leaders are challenging those who say they speak for Mullah Omar, the organization's absent chief. Ron Moreau reports on the leadership crisis.

DESPERATE TIMES

Scientists have confirmed the first archaeological evidence that Jamestown settlers resorted to cannibalism with the gruesome discovery of a 14-year-old girl's skeleton. The English girl's remains date back to the deadly winter of 1609–10, known as the "starving time," when settlers ate dogs, cats, horses, and even humans in the Virginia colony. Much remains unknown about the dismemberment and cannibalization of the 14-year-old, though a forensic anthropologist confirmed that a blow to the back of her head split her skull in half and the skull was penetrated to remove her brain. Scientists have long speculated that Jamestown colonists ate fellow settlers—and likely committed murder in the process.

Shut Your Trap

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was arrested Monday while on a visit to a book fair in Tehran, where he was held for seven hours and questioned by the Revolutionary Guards' intelligence unit. According to a source within the guards' unit, Ahmadinejad was intercepted while on his way to a meeting at the supreme leader's office. His security team was stripped of communication devices and Ahmadinejad was questioned about documents that may be detrimental to the regime. He was warned, essentially, to keep his mouth shut about all matters that could harm the regime going into the upcoming presidential election.
