'Torture Report' Spies Running Scared The Senate's long-awaited report on post-9/11 torture of terrorist suspects by the CIA is set to be released today, creating fear among former and current spooks who worry they'll be identified. NYPD Kills Synagogue Stabber NYPD anti-terror officers killed a knife-wielding man who stabbed an Israeli student at the Chabad-Lubavitch synagogue in Brooklyn's Crown Heights neighborhood. According to a witness, Calvin Peters rushed into the synagogue screaming "I want to kill the Jew!" at around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday morning. Shortly after he stabbed Levi Rosenviat, 22, in the head, cops swarmed in. Peters initially listened to cops' command to put down the knife but then picked it up again. Police said he refused to put it down and charged at cops. Police then fired, fatally shooting Peters. Rosenviat is in stable condition. Read it at New York Daily News WELCOME TO NY 3. Berkeley Protests Block Highway, Trains Berkeley protests against the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown at the hands of police entered their third night, crippling multiple forms of transportation in the Northern California city. More than 1,000 protesters took to the streets, forcing the closure of the BART downtown Berkeley station and blocking an Amtrak train. "By shutting down this train, it will delay the rest of the trains in the Bay Area," local protester Navid Shaghaghi told the San Francisco Chronicle. "Now everyone will be asking, 'Why are the trains delayed?' Because of the protesters. Unless we're free, we will prevent the system from operating." Protesters also shut down Interstate 80, blocking traffic in both directions and forcing a woman in labor to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
