BREAKING NEWS: Stocks in Rally Mode, Dow Soars 290

Building on Monday's big rally, and increasingly optimistic that Europe is closer to some sort of solution to its financial woes, investors were jumping into stocks Tuesday. At midday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 290 points, or 2.6%, at 11334, and other major market indices were showing similar percentage gains. Beaten-down financial names are surging, gold is soaring and the yield on the 10-year Treasury is creeping higher, currently at 1.99%.
