According to a report in a South Korean newspaper, there are increasing signs that North Korea is preparing a nuclear test explosion. Such a move would exacerbate an already tense situation on the Korean Peninsula.

NATO airstrike kills 10 children, Afghan officials say
An air attack during a joint Afghan-NATO operation in eastern Afghanistan has killed at least 10 children and wounded six women, Afghan officials say. The attack comes shortly after a Taliban attack killed 5 US citizens.
