The Best In The NFL Through 15 Weeks

According to NFL.com, there are still 20 teams with realistic hopes for one of the 12 playoff spots. Below is a look at how those teams rank based on point differential (per game). Teams in blue would be in the playoffs if the season ended today.

Clearly the Green Bay Packers are the best team. However, as we saw earlier this week, they are beginning to struggle offensively, which could doom them in January. The Saints, 49ers, and Patriots are the next group of dominant teams.

The Chargers would appear to be the unluckiest team. They have outscored their opponents by 3.2 points per game, and yet they are only 7-7 and on the outside looking in. At the other end, the Broncos have been the luckiest (or is it Tebowiest?). They have been outscored by nearly three points per game, but are in the playoffs at this point.
