Fresh car bomb attack kills three in Aleppo, Syria
Syria's second city Aleppo was hit by a car bomb on Sunday, which killed three people and left at least 25 wounded. Meanwhile, police crushed demonstrations throughout the country.

Police detain 100 in anti-Putin protest
Police arrested around 100 demonstrators who had gathered outside a TV station known as loyal to the Kremlin. They were angry about a documentary that portrayed anti-Putin protesters as paid agents of the West.

Libya, France, Hague court compete for Gadhafi's spy chief
Interpol has put its weight behind Libya's demand that Gadhafi's ex-spy chief be handed over to Tripoli. France and the International Criminal Court are also pushing to get their hands on the man arrested in Mauritania.

Brazil court bars travel for Chevron execs
A court in Brazil has slapped travel bans on 17 executives with energy giant Chevron over an ongoing oil spill investigation. Prosecutors said they planned to charge the group.

Belarus' double executions draw EU condemnation
Belarus, via its state media, has confirmed that it has executed both men convicted for a fatal metro train station bombing in Minsk last April, despite forensic doubts. EU leaders have condemned the executions.

Gunmen kill US teacher in Yemen
Two assailants have gunned down an American man in Yemen's second city of Taiz. A group affiliated with Islamist militant group al Qaeda has claimed reponsibility for the killing.

Jenson Button wins in Australia
McLaren's Jenson Button has won the Formula One curtain-raiser in Australia, beating defending champion Sebastian Vettel. Lewis Hamilton was third while Michael Schumacher had to retire with mechanical failure.
