Today's advice comes from Erika Andersen's column at Forbes: "If you’re a leader, a big part of your responsibility is to create an environment where people not only believe it’s possible to excel – they want to excel." Andersen is an author and the founder at Proteus International, a business coaching firm. She says great leaders truly value community, meaning they don't just focus on results, but that they also recognize how important it is for people to feel connected and have fun. "Too many leaders unintentionally encourage fear and self-protectiveness by over-focusing on what’s going wrong and how people aren’t stepping up." Want your business advice featured in Instant MBA?
