The ABC's of wedding woes -- Thursday's vice presidential debate moderator has known President Obama for years, reports TheDC's Josh Peterson: "President Barack Obama was a guest at the 1991 wedding of ABC senior foreign correspondent and vice presidential debate moderator Martha Raddatz, The Daily Caller has learned. Obama and groom Julius Genachowski, whom Obama would later tap to head the Federal Communications Commission, were Harvard Law School classmates at the time and members of the Harvard Law Review. After TheDC made preliminary inquiries Monday to confirm Obama's attendance at the wedding, ABC leaked a pre-emptive statement to liberal-leaning news outlets including Politico and The Daily Beast Tuesday, revealing what may have been internal network pressure felt just days before Raddatz was scheduled to moderate the one and only vice-presidential debate Thursday night." Is it too much to ask to have a moderator for the presidential or vice presidential debates who did not attend the wedding of one of the candidates? | 2.) The Lizard King soars -- "The Lizard King: The Shocking Inside Account of Obama's True Intergalactic Ambitions by a White House Staffer" has risen up the charts on its first day on offer to become one of the top humor books in the country. What are you waiting for? Don't miss out. Buy your copy now. Frankly, it's hilarious. Just hilarious. You can read day one's excerpt here. And today's excerpt here. | 3.) Jon Stewart, liberal blowhard -- Jon Stewart is often hilarious and even can be incisive, but he can also be absurd. TheDC's Jamie Weinstein opines on why his suggestion that conservatives are full of BS is just silly: "Meet Jon Stewart, high priest of Hogwash Hill ... On Hogwash Hill, liberals believe George W. Bush is entirely responsible for America’s debt problem because of the wars he initiated and the taxes he cut. They believe that when Bill Clinton left office, America’s finances were hunky dory. They believe that if we only raised taxes on the rich today, everything would be just spiffy ... This, to use a technical phrase, is utter crap." Read why. | 4.) Big Bird politics -- After Mitt Romney called for the defunding of PBS, including "Sesame Street," at Wednesday night's presidential debate, Team Obama released an ad attacking Mitt for his comments. TheDC's Jeff Poor reports on Charles Krauthammer's rebuke: "On Tuesday’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s 'Special Report,' Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer said that the Obama campaign's 'Big Bird' commercial is so bad that it will actually hurt President Barack Obama in November. 'I hope they run it until the end of time,' Krauthammer said. 'This could be the worst ad I’ve ever seen. The 30-second spot takes aim at Romney for suggesting during last week's presidential debate that federal funding for PBS, the network that produces 'Sesame Street' and the character Big Bird, should be slashed. 'Mitt Romney: Taking on our enemies, no matter where they nest!' jeers the narrator in the ad, which mocks Romney for worrying about Sesame Street instead of Wall Street." Oh, come on Charles. You're the best, but this ad was actually kind of funny. Not the worst ad ever. This is not to suggest that it will be effective. It won't be. But funny? Yes. | 5.)
