Stevie Wonder: Signed, Sealed, Undelivered -- Is the U.S. going to GITMO terrorists? --  Newtonian strategy -- War on Humanity -- Tweet of Yesterday -- Today in North Korean News
1.) Stevie Wonder: Signed, Sealed, Undelivered  -- The iconic singer won't be performing at a benefit concert for the Israeli Defense Forces as scheduled, reports TheDC's David Martosko:

"Stevie Wonder has decided to withdraw from a commitment to headline a Dec. 6 benefit for the Israeli Defense Forces, according to JTA, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. The American entertainer’s representatives are set to issue a statement, the news wire said late Wednesday, in which they will claim Wonder believes taking sides in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict clashes with his role as a 'Messenger of Peace' for the United Nations. He has held that honorific title since 2009."

TheDC Morning admits it is unclear what the guidelines are for a UN appointed "Messenger of Peace." Considering the role played by the UN Human Rights Council, a "UN Messenger of Peace" very well may be charged with promoting terrorism. But if a "Messenger of Peace" is actually charged with promoting peace, what better than supporting soldiers fighting to weaken a genocidal terrorist force like Hamas?

2.) Is the U.S. going to GITMO terrorists?  -- TheDC's Caroline May reports that it appears that Democrats are once again pushing to move terrorists detained at GITMO to the U.S. mainland:

"California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein on Wednesday released a report by the Government Accountability Office analyzing the feasibility of transferring the 166 detainees currently in custody at Guantanamo Bay to domestic prisons in the United States. 'This report demonstrates that if the political will exists, we could finally close Guantanamo without imperiling our national security,' Feinstein said. The senator requested the report in 2008. 'To say that high-risk detainees cannot be held securely in a maximum security prison is just plain wrong,' she continued. 'The United States already holds 373 individuals convicted of terrorism in 98 facilitates across the country. As far as I know, there hasn’t been a single security problem reported in any of these cases.'"

You know who doesn't want the GITMO detainees to be moved? Many of the GITMO detainees. As the lawyer for some of them noted in a 2010 Newsweek article when it appeared that they may be moved to a prison in Illinois, "As far as our clients are concerned, it's probably preferable for them to remain at Guantánamo." Now, that hardly is decisive in persuading TheDC Morning that the detainees should remain in GITMO, though it does go a long way to show that GITMO is not some horrible gulag. But why spend all the money removing them if even they don't want to be moved? And why provide the possibility --- no matter how remote --- they could escape onto the U.S. mainland if, again, EVEN they don't want to be moved!? What constituency is demanding they be moved to the U.S. homeland other than liberals in Berkeley and some self-righteous Europeans?
3.) Newtonian strategy -- Like Evel Knievel, Newt Gingrich isn't afraid of cliffs. TheDC's Alexis Levinson reports:

"Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich said Wednesday that House Republicans should stop negotiating with President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats on the fiscal cliff, saying that by doing so, they give Obama all of the leverage in the talks. 'One of the things I would say to House Republicans is to get a grip,' Gingrich said in a speech at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, Calif. 'They are the majority. They’re not the minority,' he said, enunciating the words as if explaining the concept to someone who did not understand it. 'They don’t need to cave in to Obama; they don’t need to form a Surrender Caucus."
4.) War on Humanity -- Sandra Fluke helped popularize the fictional "War on Women" that aided in President Obama's re-election. Now, she seems to be launching a "War on Humanity." TheDC's Eric Owens reports:

"The College Fix reports that women’s rights activist Sandra Fluke, last seen demanding that Congress force Catholic schools and other religious organizations to offer cheap contraceptive drugs, has put up for auction one hour of her time for an online 'strategy session' at the charity auction site BiddingForGood.com. You — yes, you! — can win the opportunity to soak up Fluke’s vast insight and knowledge, but only if you are the lucky high bidder."

Oh dear. Does it say something that even the Kardashians have done more to earn their fame than Sandra Fluke? On another note, Fluke was named a finalist for Time's Person of the Year, which is proof that 2012 was the most inconsequential and trivial year in recorded history.
5.) Tweet of Yesterday -- Jordan Fabian: Arne Duncan on Friedman col: "Last week, The Onion said I would become a male stripper ... The Onion is more accurate that Tom Friedman."
6.) Today in North Korean News -- BREAKING: "Vol. 2 of 'Complete Collection of Kim Jong Il's Works' Off Press"
VIDEO: Sen. Menendez says Obama has "mandate" to offer illegals "pathway to citizenship"
