Will we see Ro-mentum? -- Even though the state polls have been trending toward President Obama, some on the right are confident Mitt Romney will emerge victorious Tuesday. Why? A little thing called Ro-mentum. Actually, no one calls it that. But the point is, conservatives think the energy is on the side of Romney-Ryan. Some of that energy was evident at the Romney rally in Virginia Monday, reports TheDC's Jamie Weinstein and Alex Pappas report: "Just 20 miles away from the White House on Monday afternoon, Ann Romney knew how to rile up the crowd of northern Virginians at one of the last rallies of the presidential campaign. 'Are we going to be neighbors soon?' she asked in this swing state, getting the response from the juiced-up crowd she anticipated. 'There’s as many of you outside as inside right now,' the candidate’s spouse continued, referencing the long lines of supporters who showed up to get a glimpse of the Romneys on Monday. 'That’s the momentum we have been feeling,' she said. 'It’s not just in Virginia. It’s all across this country. And that’s what leads me to believe that I’m standing next to the next president of the United States.' Whether this enthusiasm for Mitt Romney is stronger than the enthusiasm of President Barack Obama’s supporters -- and enough to propel Romney to the White House -- will only be determined by the results of the most important poll of polls: Tuesday’s election." | ----- A Message from FreightRailWorks.org ----- Freight rail lifts tax burden: Freight railroads plan to spend $23 billion on infrastructure this year alone, so taxpayers don't have to. Something strange is happening here -- Brit Hume hits the nail on the head regarding concern over presidential polling. TheDC's Jeff Poor reports: "On FNC’s 'Special Report' Monday night, Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume said that many mainstream polls — which appear to indicate President Barack Obama will win a second term — may be fundamentally flawed. ... 'However, a number of those polls have a remarkably large number of Democrats in the sample — more Democrats, in some cases, than turned out by percentage on Election Day four years ago, which was a big year for the Democrats,' Hume continued. 'They don’t expect to have as big a year. So, those polls are troubling. Now, it would be unprecedented for this many polls reflecting a similar outcome to be wrong, which is why I think people are reluctant to draw that conclusion. But there’s something wrong here.'" We shall know shortly if the polling criticism has been warranted. | 3.) Energy revolution -- A revolution is brewing, says business icon Jack Welch. The Daily Caller's News Foundation's Michael Bastasch reports: "Jack Welch is making headlines again, this time saying that removing regulatory barriers to the oil and natural gas boom will be 'bigger than the Internet' for the economy. 'The regulatory wall is a huge deal. It’s equal in my opinion to what happens in the marketplace as the fiscal cliff,' Welch told CNBC. 'The regulatory wall is obviously right in front of you.' 'An energy rich America… it will be bigger than the Internet was, and we’re only in the first inning,' Welch said. 'It is the oxygen that makes an economy breath.'" | 4.) Media malpractice -- Much of the press have embarrassed themselves and their news organizations will pay the price, opine TheDC's Tucker Carlson and Neil Patel: "The point is that many in the press are every bit as corrupt as conservatives have accused them of being. The good news is, it’s almost over. The broadcast networks, the big daily newspapers, the newsweeklies — they’re done. It’s only a matter of time, and everyone who works there knows it. That may be why so many of them seem tapped out, lazy and enervated, unwilling to stray from the same tired story lines. Some days they seem engaged only on Twitter, where they spend hours preening for one another and sneering at outsiders. By the next presidential cycle most of these people will be gone. They’ll have moved on to academia or think tanks or Democratic senate campaigns, or wherever aging hacks go when their union contracts finally, inevitably get voided. They’ll be replaced by a vibrant digital marketplace filled with hungry young reporters who care more about breaking stories than maintaining access to some politician or regulator." | 5.) "The Lizard King" quote of the day -- From "The Lizard King: The Shocking Inside Account of Obama’s True Intergalactic Ambitions By An Anonymous White House Staffer," edited and introduced by Daily Caller writers Jamie Weinstein and Will Rahn: "I was at a meeting in the Oval Office when the Rahm first saw the Carter bust sitting across from the president’s desk, and his reaction was thirty seconds of nonstop, almost incoherent profanity. It was a rather mesmerizing, almost feral performance that ended with him storming in and out of the room before he tried to just smash the thing, only stopping himself at the last minute. And yet the whole time the president just sat there, smiling, and at one point winking at Valerie Jarrett. I smiled too, assuming the president was just looking to have some fun with his excitable chief of staff. But deep inside I also knew that there was something more to Obama’s decision to move the bust in. It hinted at a self-destructive undercurrent that seemed to exist within the president—a darkness he was fully aware of and yet unwilling to control. This tendency would become more pronounced in the coming weeks and months, but it was on display, for the first time to my eyes, on that day in the Oval Office."
