C'MON

It's primary day in New Jersey, and Cory Booker is expected to scoop up the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate. But it's not all good news for the Newark mayor. The superhero politician—known for shoveling snow and living off food stamps—has gotten himself into a sticky predicament with his equity payouts and Internet startup. He should know better, writes The Daliy Beast's Stuart Stevens.

NOPE

In a move that surprised the markets and the airline industry, the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit Tuesday to block a pending merger between American Airlines and US Airways. In the months since the two large airlines agreed to join forces, consumers have fretted that the deal would reduce competition and result in higher fares. The Daily Beast's Miranda Green reports on the immediate fallout.

GOOD JOB

Seriously, can Anthony Weiner keep anything secret? Weiner told BuzzFeed's Ben Smith on Monday night that his wife, Huma Abedin, will contribute to Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign—except, um, Clinton hasn't exactly announced she's running yet. When asked if he knows what role Abedin will play in Clinton's 2016 campaign, Weiner answered, "I do. I'm not telling you." Keep up that strategy of charming the press. Weiner acknowledged that his scandals have hurt Abedin in the Clintons' world, but he said Abedin has been "helping out every day" in Clinton's campaign. Scandals aside, his loose lips might hurt Abedin: Clinton's spokesman Philippe Reines said he has "no clue" what Weiner is talking about.

'NON-COMPLIANCE'

Fifteen-year-old Anthony Stokes's family says he's been unfairly denied a lifesaving heart transplant because of his failure to keep up with his medicine and doctor's appointments. While the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta hospital has declined to comment on Stokes's case, it explained via a statement: "We follow a very specific criteria in determining eligibility for a transplant of any kind." Stokes's family friends have said they think the "non-compliance" excuse is nonsense, pointing to his bad grades and past run-ins with the law as the real reason why "they don't want to give him a heart." Yet, as the president of the American Heart Association has pointed out, an ability to keep up with medication is a vital requirement for a heart transplant. "You have to follow a very strict regimen," she said. "Hearts are very scarce resources."

Debunked

Despite what some alarmist news stories would have you believe, college students today actually have less sex than their peers 15 years ago, according to a study from the University of Portland. The study looked at the self-reported sexual behavior of students who went to college between 2002 and 2010 and compared it with that of students from 1988 and 1996. About 59 percent of the former group said they had sex once a week or more, compared with 65 percent for the older cohort. The two groups were almost exactly as likely to say they'd had two or more sexual partners since turning 18. "Our results provide no evidence that there has been a sea change in the sexual behavior of college students," wrote the study's lead author.
