Hannah Anderson's Family Was Tortured Hannah Anderson may now be alive and safe, but new details suggest that her mother and 8-year-old brother suffered a terrible ordeal before they were killed. According to formerly sealed warrants that were released on Wednesday, Anderson's kidnapper, James Lee DiMaggio "tortured and killed his best friend's wife and 8-year-old son. DiMaggio also shot and killed the family dog," according to one of the affidavits. "After the double homicide, DiMaggio set the house on fire." A preliminary autopsy showed that DiMaggio was shot at least five times during a confrontation in the Idaho wilderness by an FBI tactical agent.  Read it at CNN ENOUGH 3. Chemical Weapons Investigators to Visit Syria A team of United Nations chemical weapons investigators will travel to Syria to investigate claims that the country used chemical weapons during its civil war, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said in a statement on Wednesday. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has agreed to let the team enter the country and investigate three sites where chemical weapons are said to have been used. "The departure of the team is now imminent," Ban said in the statement. "As agreed with the government of Syria, the team will remain in the country to conduct its activities, including on-site visits, for a period of up to 14 days, extendable upon mutual consent." The team will be led by Swedish scientist Ake Sellstrom. Read it at Reuters Chelsea 5. Gay Couple Attacked in NYC The NYPD is hunting a gang of six men after they attacked a gay couple outside a movie theater in Chelsea. The couple was holding hands on 24th Street in Manhattan when they were approached by two young men yelling anti-gay slurs. Four others quickly appeared and began beating the couple with brass knuckles. The gay couple spent the night in the emergency room, one of them requiring seven stitches on his face. The NYPD is investigating the attack as a hate crime.
