A-Rod Negotiating a Settlement Alex Rodriguez is ready to play ball, according to ESPN. The Yankees third baseman is working on a deal that would result in a lengthy suspension instead of the lifetime ban proposed by some MLB officials, which Rodriguez's attorney has said they would fight in arbitration. A-Rod and eight others players have gotten into hot water over their involvement with Biogenesis, a Miami clinic that allegedly provided them with human growth hormone, a performance-enhancing drug. Sources also told ESPN that evidence showed A-Rod had attempted to coerce a witness in the investigation. If a deal is made, Rodriguez would likely be suspended through the 2014 season. Thirty-five-year-old Jennifer Rosoff was on a date when she stepped outside onto the balcony of her 17th-floor New York City apartment. Despite her date's warning, Rosoff either leaned against or sat on the balcony's unstable railing and it gave way and she fell to her death. Officials at Rosoff's Upper East Side building—which was constructed prior to World War II—are investigating how, exactly, the railing collapsed and whether those on other apartments are equally as unstable.  Read it at New York Daily News GAME CHANGER 4. Jimmy McMillan Endorses Weiner Anyone thinking Anthony Weiner's campaign is a joke should think again. The former congressman and prolific junk tweeter has just been endorsed by Jimmy McMillan, best known for his tagline in New York's 2010 gubernatorial race: "The rent is too damn high." McMillan tweeted his support this morning along with a photo of himself and the embattled candidate. No details were given on why he's backing Weiner, but it might have to do with his stance on affordable housing. As McMillan's party website states, the cost of rent is his only priority.
