A blast hit Benghazi early Wednesday on the one-year anniversary of the attack on the U.S. consulate that killed four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador. A foreign ministry building and a branch of the Central Bank were damaged in the blast, but injuries were mostly avoided since very few people were out in the streets so early in the morning. The bank branch director said the building sustained "material damage," but its computer systems were not affected—and a security guard was slightly injured. Meanwhile, two U.S. officials told CNN that 250 combat-ready Marines had moved from their base in Moron, Spain, to a U.S. Navy base in Sigonella, Italy—which would put them just three to four hours away from Tripoli if needed in a crisis.
