Following in its tradition of naming versions of its operating system after tasty desserts, Google has released the name of upcoming Android 4.4 as Kit Kat. While there was no official mention of when Kit Kat will go live, Google had other big news. Amazon Announces New Kindle Paperwhite (Amazon)
Set to ship September 30, the Kindle Paperwhite will sell for $119 dollars with special offer advertisements and $139 without ads. One point of interest is the integration of Goodreads, adding a social component to the device which will allow users to share what they are reading with friends. Nymi Gives A Window Into What Wearables Could Become (Nymi)
Nymi is a biometric recognition wristband set to be released in early 2014. The wristband uses ECG data to authenticate the user's identity when the wristband is first put on and can then be used to effortlessly unlock smartphones, PCs, and even cars. The device allows users to forgo authentication as long as the wristband remains on a user's wrist. Nymi may be the first step towards a password-free world offered by wearable devices. Read>
