INFECTIOUS
Measles was once an active public health threat, but it had been considered eliminated in the U.S. at the turn of the millennium. Now it's back, and an outbreak in New York City has left several people hospitalized, including young infants. Russell Sauders writes the illness's resurgence is thanks to the loons who refuse to innoculate their children.
FEEDING FRENZY
The political world is on tenterhooks waiting for Hillary Clinton, and when there's even a hint of chum in the water, the sharks come circling. Dems are on the defensive after allegations that a Clinton comrade was involved in questionable campaign funding. Oh yes, Eleanor Clift writes, it's feeding time again.
FALLEN ANGEL
According to testimony Thursday by a former royal reporter Clive Goodman of the now-shuttered tabloid News of the World, Princess Diana was the source of the 1992 internal royal phone directory that was found in his possession. Goodman, a defendant in the phone hacking trial underway in London, said the "Green Book" contained the personal phone numbers of senior royals. According to Goodman, he found it in his office with an envelope displaying his name, and Princess Diana called him later asking whether he had received it. "She was going through a very, very difficult time." Goodman said. "She felt she was being swamped by people close to [Charles's] household. She was looking for an ally to take him on—to show there were forces that would rage against him."
RILED UP
Tens of thousands of people on Wednesday turned a funeral march for a 15-year-old in Istanbul into the biggest anti-government rally the country has seen since a wave of protests shook the rule of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan last year. Thomas Seibert reports from Turkey on clashes between police and protesters that are flaring once again.
LUNACY

The suspect who allegedly broke away from a drunk-driving police stop and killed two people and injured 23 when he rammed into a crowd of music fans outside a South by Southwest event in Austin Thursday morning will be charged with capital murder. The driver reportedly crashed through barricades outside the Mohawk nightclub shortly after midnight. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene after police hit the person with an electric stun gun. "I saw bodies fly into the air, and there was blood and it was unbelievable," said one bystander, Jayda Luna, 21.
