Obama to Unveil 10-Part Immigration Plan President Obama intends to unveil, as early as next Friday, a 10-part plan to overhaul United States immigration policy using executive action, and the program will include suspending deportation for millions, Fox News reports. Quoting a source close to the White House, Fox News reports that the plan contains 10 initiatives that include boosting border security, improving pay for immigration officers, and perhaps most controversially, providing a reprieve to the millions facing deportation. The plan calls for expanding deferred action for undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children—but also for the parents of U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents. The latter move could allow more than 4.5 million immigrant adults with U.S.-born children to stay, according to estimates. Read it at Fox News AWKWARD 3. Israel Blocks Human Rights Investigators UN Human Rights Council investigators looking into potential war crimes during the summer war between Israel and Hamas will be denied entry to Israel, the country announced Wednesday night. The Israeli foreign ministry claimed the council's "obsessive hostility toward Israel" would make the investigators biased. Israel's decision to block entry means investigators will be unable to enter Gaza via the main Erez crossing, which is controlled by Israel. The other major option, via Egypt, has been closed due to conflicts between Egyptian forces and Islamic militants.
