BAD GUYS

It's shocking to many Americans that family-friendly Bill Cosby has been accused of sexual assault by more than a dozen different women. He's got company though. Asawin Suebsaeng writes we forget that Bill Murray, John Lennon, Sean Penn, and a dozens more male celebrities are accused of abusing women.

DETAILS

President Obama is expected to make an announcement Friday about granting a form of legal status for as many as 5 million people who are in the United States illegally. However, officials say that one key government benefit will not be extended to these individuals—government subsidies for health-care insurance from the Affordable Care Act. The move is seen as potentially avoiding conservative fury over providing government health care to undocumented immigrants. In 2009, Republican Rep. Joe Wilson famously yelled "You lie!" at Obama during the State of the Union when he said Obamacare wouldn't go to undocumented immigrants.

NON-DISCLOSURE

Jeffrey Pounding was well on his way to becoming an Army general, but his career was derailed he was accused of knowingly exposing a woman to HIV, reports Jacob Siegel. Now, the Army National Guard colonel is facing the equivalent of a grand jury for charges of adultery, assault, and conduct unbecoming an officer.

TRAGEDY

Maria Jose Alvarado, 19, the recently crowned beauty queen in Honduras, has been found dead along with her sister, Sofia Trinidad. The two women went missing Nov. 13, after leaving a birthday party in the Santa Barbara region. Alvarado was supposed to compete in the upcoming Miss World contest in London. Alvarado's boyfriend, along with three other people, have been questioned, and a suspect has been detained along with weapons and a car. Honduras has the world's highest homicide rate, with 90.4 people murdered per 100,000 of the population.

FREEZE OUT

Six people have died so far in connection to an apocalyptic snowstorm that hit part of New York. More than 60 inches of snow have buried Buffalo and surrounding areas. According to the National Weather Service, a year's worth of snow is expected to hit the upstate New York region over the course of the next few days. Several of the fatalities involved heart attacks and authorities have asked everyone to check on elderly neighbors. Dozens of motorists were stranded, too.
