Cheat Sheet - ‘I Saved My Friend From Bill Cosby’

Read This, Skip That ....

December 03, 2014
HERO

After receiving a phone call from a 23-year-old female friend pleading for help, Tony Hogue raced to New York's Upper East Side and banged on Bill Cosby's front door. In an interview with Lloyd Grove, he recalls that September night in 1984 when he had to face down the beloved comedian.

UNDERAGE

Another name has been added to the rapidly growing list of women accusing comedian Bill Cosby of sexual assault. Except Judy Huth, now 55, is claiming she was only 15 years old when Cosby "sexually molest[ed] her by attempting to put his hand down her pants, and then taking her hand in his hand and performing a sex act on himself without her consent," according to a lawsuit filed by Huth with the Los Angeles County Superior Court. In 1974, Huth claims, she and a friend met Cosby on a movie set and he invited them to his tennis club, where he forced them to drink alcohol. He then took them to the Playboy Mansion and instructed that they pretend to be 19 years old.

TRICKY

She might be married to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, or perhaps someone in al Qaeda. Sara al-Duleimi also may have previously been exchanged for 13 nuns. Only one thing is clear, reports Jacob Siegel: Lebanese authorities knew in advance she was coming from Syria.

Collapse

Israel's divided government was in tatters Tuesday as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired two rebellious cabinet ministers and called for a new election more than two years ahead of schedule. In a nationally televised address, the prime minister said he had sacked Finance Minister Yair Lapid and Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, who head separate centrist parties. They had become two of his fiercest critics. Netanyahu accused the two of attempting a "putsch," and said he "will no longer tolerate opposition from within the government." A new election, expected to be held early next year, means a bitter campaign for the nation, and comes at a time when relations between Palestinians and Israelis are at their lowest ebb, and amid deepening despair over the prospects for peace.

No Transparency

A Wall Street Journal analysis of the latest data from 105 of the country's largest police agencies found more than 550 police killings between 2007 and 2012 were missing from the national tally kept by the FBI or, in a few dozen cases, not attributed to the agency involved. The result: It is nearly impossible to determine how many people are killed by the police each year. Public demands for transparency on such killings have increased since the August shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown by Officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri. The Ferguson Police Department has reported to the FBI one justifiable homicide by police between 1976 and 2012. Law-enforcement experts long have lamented the lack of information about killings by police.
