Fisher of Indiana University. The effect for apartments is just 1%, possibly because apartment dwellers dislike the traffic that comes with proximity to stores and parks. For example, an office or retail building with a score of 80 is worth 54% more per square foot than one scoring 20, but an apartment scoring 80 is just 6% more valuable than one scoring 20, all else being equal. | | Source: The Walkability Premium in Commercial Real Estate Investments | | | | | | FEATURED PRODUCT | | | Making Smart Acquisitions | | Harvard Business Review Article Collection | | This HBR Article Collection provides a road map to smart acquisitions—including strategies for determining when to acquire and when to ally, and disciplines for combating "deal fever." | | | | | | | | | ADVERTISEMENT | | | | | | | | | | Follow the Stat: | | | | | | | | BEST SELLERS | | | | | | PREVIOUS STATS | | | | | | | | | | | | | | UNSUBSCRIBE | UPDATE YOUR PROFILE | MORE EMAIL NEWSLETTERS | PRIVACY POLICY | | | | Was this email forwarded to you?
