Rand Paul is doing it the old-fashioned way—talking all day and night. And while he may not stop John Brennan's CIA nomination, he's taking a stand on principle, not partisanship, and shaming Democrats over drones. Peter Beinart reports.

NEW DETAILS

On the second national day of mourning (there will be seven) in the wake of the death of Hugo Chávez, it was revealed that a massive heart attack is what killed the contentious Venezuelan leader. Even in his last throes of pain, the head of Venezuela's presidential guard said Chávez expressed his desire to stay alive. "He couldn't speak, but he said it with his lips ... 'I don't want to die. Please don't let me die,' because he loved his country, he sacrificed himself for his country," said Gen. Jose Ornella, who spent the last two years with the president. Chávez was suffering from a respiratory infection following his fourth cancer surgery in December. The type of cancer has still not been specified.

WORLD DOMINATION

It's not a storm until the Weather Channel names it—and that's just the start of the forecasting behemoth's plans for global domination. Say goodbye to your local weatherman, says David Freedlander.

CHECK YOURSELF

Never one to take criticism lightly, North Korea has vowed a preemptive strike against the United States ahead of a United Nations vote to consider imposing harsher sanctions against Pyongyang for continuing to test nuclear weapons. Its ultimatum is just the latest in a string of recent threats from the antagonistic hermit nation—which was peeved recently over military drills between the U.S. and South Korea. An unnamed member of North Korea's foreign ministry said the country will exercise its right for "preemptive nuclear strikes on the headquarters of the aggressors," claiming that Washington is trying to start a nuclear war.

GO RUN ON DUNKIN'

Who needs a gun when you're armed with a piping-hot cup of joe? That's the only thing a Dunkin' Donuts employee, identified as Angelica, in West Haven, Connecticut, needed to prevent a robbery while manning the drive-through window late Saturday night. According to reports, a man tried to climb through the window and rob the Dunkin' Donuts, prompting Angelica to throw a steaming cup of hot coffee in his face. The robber jumped back into his Ford Explorer and sped off as our hero further proved her dedication to her employer, yelling, "Go run on Dunkin'."
