However, after struggling in her first four races after Daytona, Patrick rebounded with a 12th place finish at Martinsville which could be a sign of good things to come. Martinsville was a major test for Patrick as it was just her fifth career race on a short track and first at Martinsville. And at just over one-half mile, Martinsville is the NASCAR equivalent of playing a full-court basketball game in somebody's living room. However, Patrick was able to withstand the constant bumping and even overcame an early spin to record the second-best finish of her career.
