U.S. Taped Russia's Calls to Its Ukraine Spies Secretary of State John Kerry said he has proof Russia is managing a network of spies in Ukraine because the U.S. has been recording their phone conversations. Josh Rogin and Eli Lake report that Kerry revealed this information at the closed-door Trilateral Commission in Washington, along with details of Russia's intelligence efforts toward Ukrainian and Western leaders. NBA Expected to Sanction Sterling Today National Basketball Association Commissioner Adam Silver is expected to announce a decision regarding sanctions and other punishments for Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling. Clippers Coach Doc Rivers has rebuffed efforts from Sterling to reach out to him, and many major companies, including State Farm, Sprint, and Red Bull, have suspended their team sponsorships. Andrew Zimbalist, an economics professor and former consultant to the NBA Players Association, said he predicts Silver will try to force Sterling to sell the team, following the publicity of his reported racist comments. "He'll tell Sterling, 'If you choose to stay, I won't let you go to any games. I won't let you make any personnel decisions. I won't let you communicate with the general manager. You could do that, or sell the team.'" Read it at Los Angeles Times WICKED WEATHER 4. 27 Dead as Tornadoes Batter South The deadly storms that started wreaking havoc in the southern and central regions of the U.S. over the weekend aren't over yet. In total, 27 people have been killed, 11 of them on Monday when tornadoes hit Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee. On Tuesday, twisters are expected to slam the regions that were already hardest-hit. "It is almost identical areas that are under the gun, two days in a row," the Weather Channel's chief meteorologist Kevin Roth said. "That's not normally the case." Read it at NBC News DO BETTER 5. White House Gets Tough on Colleges Over Sexual Assault On Monday, the White House called on colleges to respond more effectively and aggressively to sexual assaults on their campuses in a new report released by a task force established last January. Among the guidelines mentioned in the report, the government will establish NotAlone.gov to track information on specific campuses and provide victims with easier ways to report problems with their colleges' handling of assault. The Obama administration is also expected to ask Congress to pass measures to force colleges to create better anti-assault policies, such as mandatory sexual-assault surveys. According to the task force, one in five college students has been assaulted, but only 12 percent report it.
