Tea Party Loses in Kansas In what was seen as the last chance for Tea Party conservatives to knock off a Republican senator this year, Milton Wolf failed to oust Pat Roberts of Kansas, who won his primary on Tuesday 48.1 percent to 40.8 percent. Roberts, who has been in Congress since 1981, had been accused of losing touch with his home state. Wolf was a physician as well as a distant relative of President Obama. Russian Gangsters Stole 1.2B Passwords Straight out of a James Bond movie, a Russian crime ring has amassed the largest collection of stolen Internet credentials in history. The cache includes 1.2 billion username and password combinations and more than 500 million email addresses. The discovery was made Tuesday by Milwaukee firm Hold Security and confirmed by a security expert at the request of The New York Times. The hackers targeted websites from the Fortune 500 to tiny ones, including some in Russia. The loot could be worth a lot given they contain information used for identity theft, although little of it has been sold thus far. Most of the accounts are being used to send spam on social networks, which the crime ring gets paid for by other groups. The Russian government isn't believed to be behind the hackers but Moscow doesn't exactly prosecute cyber criminals with much gusto. Read it at The New York Times SAY WHAT?! 5. Only 31 Voter Fraud Incidents Since 2000 A study published by The Washington Post found only 31 different incidents of voter fraud since 2000 that an ID law could fix. During that same time, more than a billion ballots have been cast in general and primary elections alone. The study by Justin Levitt, an expert in constitutional law, found those 31 incidents also represent claims, and some have not even been investigated or prosecuted (and could therefore be debunked). Those 31 potential incidents stack up against the 3,000 votes in the four states with strict ID laws that have been rejected for lack of ID.
