Good morning and welcome back. It's going to be hot, humid, and gross in New York today. Odd since summer unofficially ended last weekend. Let's get in to the news:

  1. Nude photos of big name female celebrities leaked on the web and Apple's iCloud service is allegedly to blame. The hackers supposedly cracked into iCloud, grabbed photos out of Photo Stream, then put them on the 4chan message board. They spread from there.
  2. Apple says it is "actively investigating" what could have happened with the iCloud hack.
  3. The FBI is also investigating the hack.
  4. In better news for Apple, it has deals with the major credit card companies — Visa, American Express, and Mastercard — to turn the iPhone 6 into a mobile payments device. For years, analysts have wanted Apple to get into mobile payments. It looks like it's finally going to happen.
  5. More Apple news: The iWatch will be announced in one week, but it won't ship to consumers until the start of 2015, and Apple has discussed a $400 price tag, for certain models.
  6. Google is hosting an event in India on September 15 — it's likely to be for Android One, the version of Android designed to run smoothly on low-cost Android phones.
  7. Is Burning Man really just for rich tech elite? No, but sort of yes.
  8. The Chinese government is going after Microsoft, giving it 20 days to respond to an antitrust investigation.
  9. Twitter's new head of product, Daniel Graf, has cleared out staff, and killed pet projects as he focuses Twitter to improve its product.
  10. Veteran tech writer Anand Shimpi has left his site, AnandTech, to go work at Apple.
