Good morning! It's sunny, and cool, as we move into the fall here in New York. Hopefully your weekend was good. Let's look at the news:

  1. Tim Cook did a big interview with Charlie Rose, and we have all the highlights.
  2. In a podcast we talk about the biggest problem with Apple's Watch: It's mostly that Apple's Apple Watch presentation wasn't very good. The product could be good, but Apple's presentation was a bit jumbled.
  3. Google announced Android One, which is built for low-cost under-powered smartphones in developing markets.
  4. VC Bill Gurley says Silicon Valley has taken on too much risk: "Unprecedented since ''99. In some ways less silly than '99 and in other ways more silly than in '99."
  5. Meet an 18-year-old YouTube star who makes so much money from YouTube, she doesn't need a "real job" (and thinks she never will).
  6. Demand for the Alibaba IPO is "overwhelming" and so it's going to raise the price range.
  7. IAC has snatched up just about every major dating app/dating site, and investors want it to spin out all of its dating properties into a standalone company.
  8. Here's a Chinese city where people who walk with their heads down looking at their phones get their own lane.
  9. Here is the somewhat goofy and awkward way drivers will pay for McDonald's at drive thrus using Apple Pay. They stick the pay terminal out the window and you put your phone to it.
  10. A lot of people were sharing this "requiem" for the iPod by Mat Honan. Apple killed the iPod quietly last week. And with it, the death of what made our relationship with music special/unique.
